Fractured Thoughts

Feel like I have disappeared into a cave for the last week or so. It's a cave called Supernatural with some guys called Sam and Dean in it.
Years and years ago... (logic dictates probably 6 judging by current season number) I was really into the season, then midway through Season 2 I got sidetracked and I just didn't watch the next. I kept meaning to but never got round to it.... Then there were fanfics drawing me in and I found the Season 1-5 boxset for a (relative) bargain. So started again right from the beginning.

So now a week later.... Just started season 4. Give me another week or so and I'll be up to date :0). Am really enjoying it, despite already knowing the plot highlights (yes that's what happen when you read the fanfic when you're not up to date).

Anyway so that has been my life for the last week. Though strangely although I have plotbunnies, they are all Doctor Who plotbunnies.... I'm definitely shipping River/Eleven which will make the third het pairing that actually hands me plotbunnies. (Really must do something with the Hardison/Parker bunnies that are running around too).

 Three hours and counting to a new episode of Doctor Who. This, here makes my TV licence fees worthwhile.

Since everybody else is linking in light of the shiny new subscription button I am fractured_sun  at archive of our own.
Most of my various fics are up there (it's actually more up to date than my ffn account at the mo I keep meaning to update that one).
The main fandoms are Highlander and Gundam wing, with some Bleach, Magnificent 7, Charmed and random other fandoms thrown in for good measure. (Though currently my head is full of leverage so that may end up being added to the list of I get anything down on paper).

(I also have an AO3 invitation going spare if anyone has been wanting to join... and lots of dreamwidth invites too for that matter. If you want either just comment)

I now have a shiny new laptop :0).

I'm pretty pleased, perhaps the best bit is the keyboard, I have a nice new keyboard that is actually nice to type on and it makes me want to write. My netbook is great and portable but the keyboard is a little the worst for wear and the keys are small, I can type on it but typing on this is much nicer. The old laptop couldn't access the internet and again the keyboard isn't great.

I'm doing the crack_van recs for highlander again for March.... Yay an excuse to re-read highlander fics (not that I need one).
Surprisingly it looks like no one's done a month since the secret santa. if this is true and not just tagging troubles, it will make picking fics that haven't been recced before soo much easier. I promise not to rec them all though and leave some for the next reccers to squee over.

Back at work.... I want another holiday :0). The mornings may just kill me but part of me is glad to get back to a routine. I put on 5lbs over Christmas (which could have been a lot worse) and I have to wait for work to renew my gym membership before I can get back to it (grr I'm trying to make sure I keep active anyway whilst I wait). Hope it'll drop off quite quickly this month with going back to stricter eating and regular exercise.

I spent my break well though, I'm behind on Bleach again so have started to catch up and I have finally got round to watching Leverage ... I'm now half way through the first series - brilliant am loving it so far.

I also got curious after someone mentioned the Strachey Mysteries, so have made my way quickly through all the films (twice), the first two books and pretty much all the fanfic I could find. I think I love movieverse Donald & Timmy. I think they are the most clearly in love couple I have ever seen, I've been trying to think of any couple I know in real life who are that happy to see each other and am coming up blank (though some of my friends came close on their wedding days), actually that's a rather depressing thought.

Writing wise I'm still whittling away at the unfinished pile in my hard drive... mainly working on a mag7 (ATF) fic at the moment. Though I have highlander, gundam wing and doctor who fics simmering too.  Though there may be a series of multi fandom ficlets coming out first if the persistent plot bunnies of the week have their way. Hmm... that reminds me, must post my hlh fic and the politics and reality update to the various archives I have dotted around and add them to my index.

Seen all over  my friends list, and I liked the sentiment so:-

This is my end of the year shout out to the many "friends" I have never been in the same room with but who have inspired, amused, comforted, encouraged, and touched me in so many ways. I love you people! Here's to another year together!!

Whee, the next part of politics and reality is written. Think I'm going to sleep on it though before posting, it's a pretty.... busy chapter and I want to read it with fresh eyes to make sure everything I wanted is in there and makes sense, not sure what warnings (if any) this chapter needs yet either. It's only been a little over a year since the last Gundam Wing fic post.

Think I shall do some work on one of my half written highlander fics for now.... or hmm that Mag7/highlander fic, though the DrWho/highlander fic is tempting.
