Welcome to my journal!

In all other aspects of life I am messy and disorganised but I am obsessive about filing, tagging and indexing my work, (apparently even when not at work,) so in deference to my anal retentiveness I give you my contents page. 

Currently all my fiction entries (and most but not all of the non-fic posts) are open to everyone, (if I ever write anything that is NC-17 I will friend lock it, just for peace of mind. Some of these have slash/yaoi pairings and some are het, the pairings and ratings are listed as a guide, read what you like ignore what you don't.

Someone wrote me fic. Wonderful long highlander/leverage fic. I was very miffed last night because I get a message that it has been posted and then I can't read it because I'm on an away day with work (well away day and night) and it was posted about 10 minutes before the evening meal. I was very kind of rude and kept sneaking peaks at it between courses :0).

Anyway if you have enjoyed either series you have to read it because it is wonderful and it's here

Less thank a fortnight until the hlh_shortcuts fics are due.... Really must start writing.

My assignment for the hlh_shortcuts secret santa fic exchange was in my inbox this morning :0). I can definintely work with that, I have a plotbunnies already hatching (apparently plotbunnies unlike other bunnies are not mammalian but are reptilian, amphibian or maybe avian... hmm bunnies with wings, that would explain why they keep flying off).

Sorry moving on from the poor stretched metaphor now. Should be fun to write I think and I can hardly wait to read them all... except then I would have no time to write mine so it's good that it's still a little way off.

Everything has been changing over at delicious, where I keep my links/recs/bookmarks and many people are already deleting and moving on. I'm keeping my delicious account active (at least for now). They seem to be adding bits of the old functionality back everyday, so I'm sticking around to see how it looks in a few weeks and whether I think I can use it (though mine keeps switching between the old and new versions at the moment).

I am however already on Pinboard and Diigo (they both mirror my delicious account), if anyone wants to take a look. Pinboard is probably the best in terms of fandom because diigo automatically makes certain links private and doesn't allow certain tags, but it does charge a small one-off joining fee. Diigo does a lot of other highting and comments and various other bits I don't use so haven't really looked at, and Pinboard seems to be a more straightforward plain indexing system. It's easier to see who else has saved a link on Pinbard too and thus find similar bookmarks. If anyone wants a look at the sites in use or subscribe/follow/network/whatever I've put in links to my bookmarks below.

2 days and two ficlets down :0). I'm having fun writing these too.

Today's offering is 240 words of Methos and Darius, playing a game I know next to nothing about (but maybe it's short enough that no one will notice). No warnings - sorry anyone who was hoping for sex & violence (let's face it you have the wrong author) this remains resolutely G.

 

I have several snippets in mind for these two, and at some point I will indulge in them but this was the one that wrote itself today.

I remember now how much I dislike internet explorer...

Ever since the last update firefox on my home computer has been freezing my computer and has become basically unusable so I have switched back to IE. Ahh... it fills in addresses by alphabetical order rather than most used and I can't figure out how to make it reopen my last session automatically (I can click a button to reopen the last closed window each time but that means I can't reopen more than one window) and I just don't like it :0(. *Wonders what chrome is like*

This my excuse for being so slow with the highlander recs on crack_van (and I'm sticking to it) should make up for it this week.

I've started writing ficlets again, leverage so far (I have a strange fascination with Hardison's Nana) but might shake out a few other fandoms too whilst I'm at it.

Right I tried this earlier and the html kept going mad so trying it again now.

hlh_shortcuts is all finished (If you haven't had a chance and would like to check out the new highlander fics they are indexed here.) Including a lovely Methos/Duncan fic mogwai_do wrote for me, "A Christmas Story". Here though (If the formatting is kind to me this time) is the fic I wrote for this year's fest. I had great fun both writing and reading again this year, so thanks to everyone who made it so much fun,  especially of course Tryfanstone. I now have dozens of little plot bunnies running around my head, so there may even be some more fic coming along.

The good news is that delicious is apparently going to be sold rather than closed down :0). I'm still nervous enough about the whole thing that I'm mirroring my delicious account on pinboard: you can find mine here someparts of it I prefer to delicious other bits are annoying. I don't think I'll use it  except as a backup.

Awhile ago someone (I think it was marbleglove) mentioned that Adrian Brody in Predators could be Methos, so when I passed it I had to try watching it, and she was right.... Royce is so Methos, he even kind of looks like Peter Wingfield, well OK it's just the nose and the colouring but still. Royce is totally unlike Adam Pierson in everyway but I could totally see him Methos (former horseman and all). It makes me want to write crossover drabbles and it's not even a good film.... apart from the Methosness, watching it as a crazy highlander future made an otherwise bad film interesting.

Have done most of my Christmas shopping, today yay :0). The rest of it is for people I'm notseeing until after christmas so no panic buying on Christmas eve :0).

Yay I got my hlh_shortcuts fic in before the deadline (just). Much kudos, thanks and internet cookies tomackiedockie for heroically wading through my run on sentences to help me make it readable.

Double yay posting starts tomorrow..... new highlander fics I'm so excited. Anyone on my flist who isn't a member and wants to read them you can find the comm here, they'll be posting for about a week I think.

Anyone still working on theirs - don't panic. You can do it.

Well now I've finished that there's several highlander/ magnificent 7 crossovers that have been torturing me and I keep getting Bleach plotbunnies, not to mention the other highlander fic I decided not to complete for hlh.... I'm hoping to ride this to a wave of productivity.

7 days to hlh-shortcuts deadline.... yikes. Guess what I'm doing this weekend :0)
Really want to get it drafted before I go away Monday-Tuesday. It's coming along though so fingers crossed, just need to... Yeah well, anyway that's why we have weekends.
How's everyone else's going? Please tell me I'm not the only one with (what feels like) half a fic.
