As everyone else is doing it I thought, why not? I am reassured by the fact I would survive an attack from a house cat as I have to live with several. I do feel the lion, tiger and bear etc survival rates might be a little optimistic, however as I am unlikely to meet any of the aforementioned outside of a zoo (UK city centres not being renowned for their large carnivorous mammals) I am not overly concerned. Did anyone else notice they asked if we had shot a gun a few times but not if we were actually able to hit anything (or avoid injury) with it.

Oh yay I have made it on to three LJ pages. I've got lack of attention syndrome and several different series of TV distracting me but I will post something more interesting soon, I promise. I have several stories (from several different fandoms) bouncing round and not one of them committed to paper yet, oh I tell a lie I wrote 2 sentences of a highlander fic and most of a paragraph of the next chapter of Zero X. I blame American and Japanese TV (oh and dr Who definitely partly his fault too) and the Supernatural fandom, I made the mistake of reading a couple and then my weekend had gone (help me somebody).

Wow been a long time since I last posted. Both life and work have been manic and I haven't really had any time to write. Nice long Bank holiday weekend this weekend though, and nothing planned no excuse not to finish that chapter I've been working on.

Spent most of today watching Dr Who, I hadn't seen any of this series but I downloaded them all this week and now I'm almost up to date, just weeks  and  this  weeks  to  watch.  I was  surprised  I wouldn't have thought Catherine Tate would work well with Dr Who but actually they spark off each other quite well. I love saving up lots of episodes of things and watching them all back to back, you can really get into a series then. That's why I only watch Bleach every month or so, gives me enough episodes to sink my teeth into.

Anyway better go, time for bed but this can be said to be my promise to get some writing out this weekend.

We've been moving our lab and office (again) at work, so I've spent  pretty  much all week  putting everything into large blue boxes and dismantling  equipment. All this manual  labour  has left  me absolutely exhausted. Needless  to  say  this means that no actual work has been going on all week, and most of next week will be chaos as well as we unpack everything  *sigh*. On the plus side we will have nice newly refurbished labs to work in on the minus side half the equipment will get broken in the move and take forever to fix.

I told my supervisor I would have a draft of our journal publication completed for Monday, but with the moving I've hardly done any of it. So I should really spend all weekend doing something I would otherwise have spent all week doing (that's going to be fun). To make my week complete took my hard bound thesis copies to the graduate office for final submission and I've got the wrong year on them because I misread the instructions (Insert copious amounts of swearing and cursing at self here) so now I have to get the whole thing reprinted and rebound.

OK I have finished my whinge now. I have the next chapter of Zero X written in my head so am going to try to commit it to computer screen (I can't say paper) this weekend, and something for GW500 too if I have time. Read- am procrastinating from the work I ought to be doing. My Mum sent me this forward the other day which just made me laugh so I thought I'd share it and thus perpetuate the spam:

Hey everyone,

Been in to town and managed to buy some shoes to go with my outfit for my Mum's wedding next month. Success. So am feeling vaguely organised for once, a feeling magnified by the fact I managed to find a house for next July, so I'm going to have somewhere to live next year, yay.

Anyway I'm just taking a tensy tiny break, I'm less than 500 words away from finishing my [profile] one_character entry for this month, just as well the dealine's tomorrow. Tell you what if I end up doing one next month I'm going to pick a character I'm a little more famliar with, Sally's been fun (in places) but it was hard work. Phew *wipes brow*.

Once that's finished I can go play with the plot bunny that's been growing in the back of my head since I saw the prompt for this weeks [community profile] gw500 or write some more Zero X perhaps, both of these being much more fun to write than the journal publication for work I ought to drafting. Oh well who want to do work over the weekend anyway, how hard can it be to write 2000 words in a week (has flash back to the agony of viva writing) OK I promise to take a decent crack at the paper tomorrow.

So OK have finished procrastinating now, I'm going back to finishing my story - just one more prompt to do, wish me luck.
I'm back (in case the previous posts didn't tip you off). Yay I survived without the internet for almost a week, am glad to have it back. Hope everyone had a good Easter, been reading through all the posts, think I've commented on most of the fics at least.

Had a great time over at my Mum's went for long muddy walks and got snowed on (very strange weather for Easter) and tried not to eat too much chocolate. My usericon is my cat she was 'helping me' make the bed up (well I call her my cat but my Mum stole her when I went to university and has never given her back, so now I get visitation rights). Went to the Tate Britain Gallery was slightly alarmed when my Mum mentioned that she and her friend used to go there on their own when she was small, the idea of letting two ten year old girls go into and walk around central London on their own is unthinkable today or even when I was little. Shows how much the world has changed I suppose. Spent another day out shopping for something to wear to Mum's wedding, just need some shoes to go with it now (and to persuade my brother to give me a lift down). Managed to get over to see my Dad as well which was fun, his wife's daughter and her family were down too and we all had fun playing on their Wii and getting drunk.

Did a fair bit of writing as well so should have some more zero X ready to update this week and have done loads on both of my compositions for [profile] one_character, though I still think I'm only going to get one done. The Gundam Wing one I'm doing is on Sally Po of all people, which I'm finding interesting as I didn't feel like I knew her very well as a character so it's been a learning experience, I know some of you write longer work than that but 10,000 words seems like lots to me.
