lots of writing

Had a nice productive day, as well as getting my Mum a present, and being offered some more temp work I:

• Sent off my HL fic 'never ever' to be beta'd.
• Finshed a first rough draft of the next part of my 3x4 'reality and politics' ..... saga? (it certainly will get long enough to qualify if I end up writing all the scenes my mind comes up with) I'm thinking tomorrow today or wednesday it'll be ready. Not happy with it yet.
• Did another chunk of Zero X chapter 10 (maybe late this week, perhaps, no promises)
• and started plotting my Caspian fic for hl_flashfic .

That last may just give me nightmares I find it more disturbing to think these things up myself than to read them in someone elses words. Hmm... I sure am writing a lot of different things at the same time. I haven't touched thme today but I am also writing learning to communicate part 5, the prequel to zero X and a rather difficult little HL fic and I rreally want to write a short Mag 7 fic too (for a bit of variety).

Complaining about science for fics

Have been working on zero X hadn't realised how much genetics I had forgotten. Why didn't I write a fic with protein biochemistry instead, I know about protein biochemistry.

I haven't thought much about eukaryotic (basically anything more complex than bacteria) gene expression since my degree. This chapter would be a lot easier if people were bacteria. Bacterial gene regulation is easy, I do it on a pratically daily basis in the lab. I could pretend they're the same as bacteria most people wouldn't know the difference. *headdesk* I'm too much of a science geek it would bug me way too much *goes back to textbook on gene regulation kept from my final year*.

I have more sympathy for the complete crap they spout when explaining the 'science' bits in films now.

Mag7/ highlander/ Charmed fic like lists - "How I spent my summers"

All the kids on summer holidays running around under foot gave me a fic list bunny, and I decided to write about the summers of some of my favourite characters. Yes I know I'm already writing lots of different stories but this is a sort of seasonal one-shot, (which I might continue with some other characters because I haven't done any of the pilots yet and they don't like being left out).
