I have lots of people 'following' me whose whole purpose appears to be selling dodgy finacial products *shrugs*. I've had similar people friend me on LJ, I just don't add them back and it's not like they message me or anything so really they're more innocuous than many bits of spam.

I think I like twitter, (though only for fandom, none of my RL friends have joined anyway) I can read sarky comments from celebrities and complain about writing.
